Cyberax Tech - Past & The Road Ahead

What is Cyberax ?

Cyberax is a software program which controls human brain. It is this amazing idea that really drawn me to computers and software development and still ticks within me that someday we will be able to create something like this :)

How it all started?

Cyberax Tech was started in 1999 when I was in first year of my College with lot of hope & aspirations of making it BIG and my cousin Manish Bhaiya joined to help me out in this venture.
However soon we faced reality pretty early and it was not an easy ride and neither the profits were as planned. We tried different stuff from computer training institute, teaching accounting software, running a cyber cafe and even selling computer hardware. So today I can say that I have experienced it all :)

Though personally I was learning a lot of stuff but running the company was getting difficult. And a few natural disaster in our office like heavy water pouring from the ceiling, EPABX going bad due to lightening and then computers getting drowned in rain water. When we saw that scene as we entered the office it was like all lost.

Later Manish Bhaiya didnt find the software industry appealing and went back to our family established business which is in Manufacturing of Rigid PVC Pipes.

Cyberax virtually went into Hibernation for 3 years as I was just supporting the existing clients and was doing fewer projects.

Job Experience at Teauction.com Ltd. & ESolutions

In Feb 2000, I also got a job offer from a Mindset Consulting Pvt. Ltd. required a web designer for on-site job for Tea Portal (www.teauction.com). After 4 months I was directly absorbed by the company and was offered the post of "Team Leader - Technical" ;)

Well there were a lot of things that I learnt at Tea Auction & eSolutions. The first year was really nice and things were looking too bright. I was regularly appreciated for my good work and that used to encourage me to do my best. But gradually the problem started with managing a BIG team, your ideas and work credit was given to someone else.

Well there were a lot of things that I learnt at Tea Auction & eSolutions. Some of the most significant ones are:

a) How it feels when you get to interact with a non-technical immediate BOSS holding a Technical post. I still remember that we formed a YahooGroups just to discuss about our funny experience with and his Fundas on Technology. Those were really humorous... Well you guys do not practice it as if you are caught you might face the wrath of your Boss.

b) Office politics : How to survive and make it work for you. Well its better not to ask anyone their salary and neither tell anyone. Money is a great DIVIDER. Always be indispensable and constantly try to take up more responsiblity as this reduces job insecurity.

c) First person to join in the Technical Team and being the youngest in the team.

d) Had to enter office sharp at 9:30 AM or was marked late. Finally managed to do some "setting" with the receptionist who used to maintain the attendance log. :)

e) How it feels to be saying "Yes BOSS" and working under someone. I strongly beleive that the Boss has to always lead by example and respect has to be earned and not imposed.

f) The company was not doing that great and slowly everyone in the team were either leaving or were being sacked. Finally I also made the decision to quit as it was evident that it was not going anywhere. It was one of the saddest days for me where I had to leave a company which I have seen it growing and saw its downfall too.

Life is to move on...

Cyberax is BACK!

Cyberax Tech was started again in February 2003 and this time I was more prepared to take the challenges. My experience at Teauction as an employee helped me in understanding Cyberax employees. Today Cyberax offers a range of services like web applications, customised software solutions, search engine marketing, web hosting and portal development.

In May 2006 we switched from Sole-Proprietorship to a limited liablity company and the new name is Cyberax Tech Pvt. Ltd.

Looking ahead:

Short term goals:

a) A new Office for Cyberax in the heart of the city.

b) 100% export oriented Software Technology Park (STP) unit.

c) Getting ISO 9001 and related certifications for quality and customer support.
